As a working woman, I am like a pendulum oscillating between demands of being a kindergarten teacher and home chores. I have to wake up really early in the morning, finish my work in the kitchen, then go to school. Professional life is also extremely busy and mind boggling. At the end of the day I am so stressed and tired. This combination of juggling multiple commitments lead to many physical health problems as well as mental distress. I realized I can't be running marathons in every sphere of life and thankfully, soon embraced health, proper nutrition and fitness to grow and prosper in all areas of my life. I empowered myself by making a choice to improve my health, increase my strength and focus my mind. Like everyone else, I am busy but I have learned to make working out and eating right a priority! Even once I hit my goal weight, I am not done! My family is learning to eat healthy right along with me. I feel stronger than ever before, and I definitely have much more energy! Fitness isn't a race, it's a lifelong journey to care for ourselves, our health and wellbeing. You cannot fall behind and you cannot fail. You can only CHOOSE how you are going to go forward TODAY. Care for your body because your body is a beautiful gift that is, AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN, worth loving and caring for. There's nothing to lose and no way to fail. There's only inner-strength to uncover and self-love to gain. I have learned over the years that when one's mind is made up, this diminishes fears; knowing what must be done does away with fear. भ्रष्टाचार बनाम ईमानदारी हमारे शास्त्रों में मनुष्य का जीवन गंगा की भान्ति पवित्र, गगन की भांति व्यापक, पर्वत को भान्ति विशाल, समुद्र की भांति गम्भीर और अमृत की तरह मधुर माना जाता है। अतः जब एक बच्चा संसार में जन्म लेता है तो उसकी आत्मा इतनी सात्विक, विचार इतने कोमल और बुद्धि इतनी निर्मल होती है कि यदि उसे देवता की उपाधि से भी विभूषित कर दिया जाए तो अत्युक्ति नहीं होगी। इसीलिए कुछ लोग बच्चे को ' बाल गोपाल ' के नाम से भी पुकारते हैं। परन्तु ज्यों-ज्यों बालक अपनी माता के साहचर्य में, परिवार के सहवास में, मित्रों के सम्पर्क में और समाज के सानिध्य में आता रहता है त्यों-त्यों उसकी आत्मा विचार और बुद्धि परिवर्तित होती चली जाती है। इसका प्रमुख कारण यही है कि वह समाज में जो कुछ देखता है, सुनता है और अनुभव करता है उसे ही अपने जीवन में ढालता है। फलस्वरूप एक दिन ऐसा भी आता है कि वही बच्चा युवक बनकर या तो उच्चकोटि का सदाचारी बन जाता है अथवा एक दुराचारी बनकर समाज एवं राष्ट्र के लिए एक महान् कलंक सिद्ध होता है। आज हमारे देश के कोने-कोने से भ्रष्टाचार की आवाजें उठ रही हैं और प्रत्येक नागरिक इसके कारण दुःखी नज़र आ रहा हैं जैसे भ्रष्टाचार हमारे देश के जन जीवन का एक स्थायी स्वभाव बन गया हो। आज का सारा समाज दफ्तर में चपरासी से लेकर अफसर तक सभी निम्नोक्तियों पर ही कायम रहते हैं - " कभी घूस खायी नहीं, किया न भ्रष्टाचार, ऐसे भोंदू जीव को, बार-बार धिक्कार। " आधुनिक युग में 'घूस 'शब्द के समानार्थक शब्द तो तोहफे, भेंट, उपहार या ईश्वर द्वारा दिया गया प्रसाद है। कितने आश्चर्य की बात है कि ऐसे ऋषि-मुनियों और महान् आत्माओं के देश में जहाँ धर्म और नैतिकता के उपदेश युगों-युगों से निरन्तर दिए जा रहे हों, जहाँ मोक्ष और मुक्ति को ही जीवन का चरम लक्ष्म माना जाता है, ऐसे देशवासी अधिक से अधिक संख्या में भ्रष्टाचारी बनते जा रहे हैं ? क्या बड़े-बड़े आदर्शों की बातें मात्र हमारे प्राचीन ग्रन्थों तथा हमारी वाणी तक ही सीमित रह गई है ? हमारे व्यावहारिक जीवन में उन आदर्शों की छाया तक भी नज़र नहीं आती। यहाँ तक कि न्यायालयों में भी जजों की जेबें गर्म करके कभी-कभी तो सजा इतनी कम दी जाती है कि वह मजाक सा प्रतीत होता है। उदाहरण के लिए अगर एक आदमी खाने की चीज़ों में 5-7 सालों से मिलावट करके लाखों रूपये कमा लेता है और यदि उस पर केवल दो चार हजार रूपये जुर्माना हो जाए तो क्या फर्क पड़ता है ? बड़े-बड़े शहरों में फुटपाथों पर दुकानें लगाने वाले पुलिस वालों से पैसों के बारे में सांठ गाँठ पहले ही कर लेते हैं और उन्हें कमीशन देते हैं, राशन कार्ड बनाने वाले को कुछ थमाइयें वह भी तीन सदस्यों की जगह सात आदमी लिख देगा, कोई पुराना रिकार्ड निकलवाना है तो क्लर्क को कुछ दीजिए, कहीं कोटा निर्धारित करने में गड़बड़ी होती है, कहीं परमिट बनाने में पक्षपात किया जाता है कहीं लाईसेंस के मामले में मुट्ठी गर्म की जाती है तो कहीं इनकम टैक्स या सेल टैक्स की धांधली सुनाई दे रही है। यह सब खुले आम हो रहा है आप और हम लोग ही करते हैं फिर भी कानूनी प्रमाण माँगे जाते हैं। डॉ अमर ज्योति जोत' मांगट, हिंदी व्याख्याता , जिला शिक्षा एवं प्रशिक्षण संस्थान , फिरोजपुर, पंजाब
